CASPER -- At her request, no services will be held for Helen Carmichael, 94, who died March 31, 2007, at Wyoming Medical Center. Burial will take place at Highland Cemetery at a later date.
She was born in Omaha, Neb., the daughter of Frank McNanny and Mary (Neu) McNanny.
She graduated from high school in Omaha, Neb., and went to work for J.C. Penney.
She moved to Casper in 1935 and continued working for JC Penney's for 13 years.
In 1958, she opened her own ladies wear shop, known as "The Tower Shop." She was in business for more than 18 years, retiring in January 1977.
She enjoyed china painting and needlepoint and loved working in her yard.
Survivors include her son, Charles W. Carmichael and wife, Glendale, Ariz.; two grandsons and two great-granddaughters; three nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
