On September 4, 2020 Harry Blaine Highland passed away in Casper, WY at Wyoming Medical Center. Born October 26, 1930, in Basin Wyoming, to Clifford Blaine and Genevieve Ida (Sellers). He attended schools in Hyattville and Manderson Wyoming. At the age of 17, Harry enlisted in the US Navy, and served his country for the next 20 years of his life. He retired September 18, 1965, as Chief Boilerman 2nd Class.
On March 9, 1956 he married Leona (Myers) in Oceanview, VA. On December 2, 1959 they welcomed a daughter, Genevieve Ellen, On October 27, 1969 Mary Ellen was born and was adopted by them in April of 1970, in West Covina, CA.
In 1973 Harry and Leona moved the family from Riverside, CA. to his home state Wyoming. Moving to Casper he attended Casper College and became a master welder and worked for WATCO. He also worked in the oilfield, for Jim's Pipe Service and worked for Coliseum Motors for 13 year til he retired in June 1992. He resided in Casper to the time of his death..
Leona passed away on June 20, 1986.
On August 20, 1988 he married Delores Van Dike.
He is survived by his wife, Delores, his 2 daughters, Genevieve Bender, Mary (William) McNamara. 6 grandchildren, Veronica Bender, Blaine Bender, Michael Bender of Casper Mercedes (David)Hahn of Sea Girt, NJ., Bo McNamara of Breckenridge, CO, and McKenzie Rae McNamara of Casper, WY. and 6 great grandchildren, Malakai, Izaiah, Ana Liese, Hadley Marie, Khaizer James and Kruz Haven all of Casper.
Through his union with Delores he also gained 5 stepchildren, Curtis Hatt, Joel Hatt, Kenneth Hatt, Susan Sterling and Douglas Hatt, and 12 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.
Harry is proceeded in death by both parents.
Harry lived a long and enjoyable life almost making it to the age of 90. There will be no services in Casper per his request, only graveside services in Basin, Wyoming 1:00 PM on Thursday September 10, 2020 at Mount View Cemetery, were he will be laid to rest with Leona and his mother and father and numerous relatives, with Military rites.
The family also wants to thank the doctors and nurses for the wonderful care Harry received at Wyoming Medical Center.
