Harry Junior Cook

December 30, 1928 — August 13, 2019

Harry Junior Cook, 90 of Evansville, Wyoming passed away peacefully August 13, 2019 surrounded by family. He was born December 30, 1928 to the late Harry E and Edna F (Rizer) Cook in Wellersburg PA.

As a young man he worked the family farm in Pennsylvania. His first job was at Celenase in Maryland and in the coal mines. He later went on to work in masonry. In the summer of 1957, he met Fadra Lorraine Sneathen and they were married Christmas Day that same year in the home of her grandparents. They made their home in PA until moving to Casper, Wyoming in 1962, later moving to Evansville, Wyoming in 1971. He worked for Pancratz roofing until his retirement.

They had 2 children Angela "Angie" in 1959 and Lorraine "Raini" in 1960. One of the happiest days of his life was the day he became a grandfather. He had 5 grandchildren; Velvet, Tiffany, and David "Davy" Rayner of Evansville, Wyoming and Angela and Scott Baraibar of Iowa. He loved baseball and enjoyed watching his grandson "Davy" play little league and on the TV Pittsburg and Baltimore were his favorite teams.

Lifetime enjoyment included hunting from a young age with his brothers and later with his grandchildren. He spent many hours with Davy shooting targets and just hanging out. He became quite the fisherman going to Alcova with Chuck Liston. Playing cards with family and friends always brought a smile to his face.

One of his favorite past times was caring for his lawn. He wanted to have the greenest lawn on the block and took great pride in its perfection. He was the favorite "Pap" on the block. Children would stop by to say hi and get a lollipop or get their bike tires aired up or bike chain put back on. His only request was to stay on the sidewalk, close the gate, and not walk on his prized lawn.

After 34 years of marriage his beloved wife Fadra passed away. Feeling lost after her passing he started to go to the senior center where he met many friends and enjoyed playing pool. It became his favorite activity 11am-5pm daily. He competed in pool tournaments and was very proud about getting his name on the pool trophy. In 2014 he had several eye surgeries and was unable to play pool. After losing most of his sight his daughter Angie spent every evening at his home caring for him and spending time with him. His granddaughter Tiffany would also come by each Monday to help. He looked forward to the daily visits from All About Family and grew quite fond of Jenna's kindness and smiling face. Weekly calls from his nephew Jim and brother and sisters and visits from his grandchildren and great grandchildren became very important.

He was proceeded in death by his wife Fadra Lorraine, his daughter Lorraine Suzzette Baraibar, his parents Harry E and Edna Cook, sisters Marion Little, Blanche Bingman, brothers Robert and Paul Cook, and grandson Scott Baraibar.

He is survived by his daughter Angie Rayner, grandchildren Velvet (Rob) Locklin, Tiffany (Rob) Dutton, Davy (Melissa) Rayner, Angela (Dusty) Sanders, great grandchildren Hope, Katelyn, Colton Dutton, Bryce and Bretton Locklin, Braeden, Breonna, and Aliyah Rayner, Sunshine Baraibar, Dylan and Quinten Sanders, his brother Albert Cook, sisters Bertha Emerick, Darlene Ringler, and Florence Cook.

A big thank you to All About Family (Velvet, Melodi, and their caring team of Nurses and C.N.A's) for their love and caring for him over the last several years. Flowers or memorials to the Heart Association in Fadra Cook and Lorraine Baraibar's names or donations to Meals on Wheels, the Senior Center, or Hospice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
