Reverend Harold R. Kennedy
Casper - Services for Casper resident Rev. Harold R. Kennedy, 96, will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Friday March 21st, at Faith Assembly of God Church by Pastor Tim Tromble and Pastor Ron Blauvelt.
He died March 14, 2008, at Poplar Living Center.
Born October 28, 1911, in Oelwein, Iowa, he was the son of Edgar and Edna Belle (Garrey) Kennedy.
On August 7, 1934, he married Alice Stephens in Sterling, Colorado.
He and his wife were Assemblies of God ministers and pastored in Leadville and New Raymer, Colorado; and in Torrington, Wyoming. In 1952, they moved to Casper and started Faith Assembly of God church. The couple retired in 1984.
Pastor Kennedy was a great role model. He was a grandfather to many, and he truly loved his family. He always enjoyed being in the middle of a building project. He was not only a pastor, but a very special friend to many. He was very devoted to his calling to minister to the needs of others.
Survivors include two sons, Keith Kennedy of Louisa, VA, and Ronald R. Kennedy of Sammamish, WA; one sister Phyllis Kelly of Greeley, CO; six grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandson due in June.
He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, four brothers, and one sister.
