Born November 5, 1953 in Lander, Wyoming to Gordon and Theresa Spoonhunter Whiting. He was raised in Casper and spent the majority of his life there. He went to school in Casper, Arapahoe and Riverton. He attended Kicking Horse Job Corps Center in Ronan, MT. Nii'eihii cebii'ohut (Flying Eagle) is his Arapaho name. When he was a young man, he participated in the Offerings Lodge of the Arapaho and the NAC.
Troy will be remembered as a quiet man who helped his brothers and sisters by just being there for them. He enjoyed listening to the radio, music, watching movies and eating Chinese food.
He is survived by sisters, Darlene Conrad and Marty, Gordeena Whiting, and Dorene Whiting. Brothers, Elliot and Allen Whiting; nephews Stallone Trosper, Naveda Whiting and Benjamin Conrad; and nieces, Lorrisa Hensley, Nykomia Whiting, and granddaughters Uriah, Amanda and Rachel Stamper; also Juanita Stamp, Ike and Georgia Chavez plus family members of the Shakespeare, Spoonhunter, and Trumbull families.
He is preceded by his parents; grandparents, William Shakespeare, Beatrice Spoonhunter, Roy Spoonhunter; sister E. Carol Hensley and ceremonial grandfather, Hiram Armajo.
Cremation has taken place; his remains will be placed at Sage Redman cemetery at Ethete Saturday July 7, 2012 at 10am. A memorial service and meal will follow at Eagle Hall.
