Gloria M. Maxwell

Gloria M. Maxwell, a long-time resident of Casper, WY passed away at the home of her son on January 3, 2024 at the age of 93.

Gloria was born on December 4th, 1930 in Sterling, CO to Rotilio Betini and Elizabeth (Michaeli) Betini. One of 9 children, she and her family farmed outside of Sterling, where she lived and attended school. As a young child, Gloria suffered from the Polio virus which led to lasting partial paralysis. Her determination and strength allowed her to finish school and go on to attend Community College where she received her Licensed Practical Nursing degree, also in Sterling.

Gloria married Irl F. Maxwell on June 8, 1952. They moved to Dix, NE in the late 1950s where they raised their two sons, Jim and Tom. Gloria worked as a dental assistant for many years in Kimball, NE. In 1978, Irl and Gloria moved to Casper, WY where she worked for many years at Wyoming Medial Center in medical records.

She is survived by her son, Tom Maxwell, of Casper; daughter-in- law, Amy (Merlen) Frye; grandchildren, Curtis (Heather) Maxwell and Kayla (Josh) Moore; great-grandchildren Taylor and Carter Maxwell and Bo Bailey and Miley Moore, all of Douglas.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; her son, Jim; grandson, Michael; and all 8 of her brothers and sisters.

Funeral arrangements will be made at a later date as she will be laid to rest with her husband at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery in Casper.
