Geraldine Cliame passed away on May 8th 2013 at 9:08pm mountain standard time. Her journey of life began, and ended on the same day as her birthday, spanning exactly eighty years. With Gerry's passing we close a link not just to our past, but in turn each of us start a new one; carrying on the meaning and spirit of what family and the name Clime has come to means to us. Everyone who was a part of Gerry's life has a bit of Cliame in each of them, a story, and a catch phrase. Survived by her three children Charlie the First, Kathleen, and Nathan, along with her grand children, and great grand children, she will we be forever missed as she impacted so many lives.
Growing up early in life, she went to school, and took care of her sisters, until she graduated. After school she attended college for a brief time before taking on the role of house wife marrying the late Charles Cliame. Not only taking on the task of raising four children Gerry's home also became the place where many other neighborhood friends came to call home as well. Not only raising children she became active in the community of Riverton, engaging in everything from Girl Scouts to Little League, and later Tops, and volunteering alongside her husband at the library.
After finishing the task of raising her children with her husband she took to traveling the land searching for our relatives, our past and our origin story. Many expeditions led by Gerry took us all over the country that in time revealed where we had come from, and what we were all about. We as a family have an incredible story that would be forgotten if it had not been for the hard work of one woman who simply wanted to know.
Settling down from her journeys she took to actively stepping up to help in raising, and being part of many of her grandkid's lives, while pursuing her hobbies of bingo, and crafts. Later when she began to reflect, and look back on life she retained her independence with the help of her daughter by her side, until she was able to say her goodbyes making sure that we were all going to be alright, and that we would keep moving forward.
Beyond anything we believe, or faith we might hold Gerry knew beyond a doubt where she was going, and what was awaiting her. Gerry, like us all aren't just starting a new chapter in life we are starting a new book all together.
