George Weber Rummel

February 5, 1930 — December 11, 2017

George Weber Rummel, age 87, of Casper, Wyoming, passed away December 11, 2017, at his home. George was born in Casper, Wyoming, on February 5, 1930 to George and Daisy Kropp Rummel. He attended elementary and junior high schools in multiple states, due to his Father's occupation as a bricklayer. His family moved back to Casper so that he could attend Natrona County High School, where he graduated in 1948. He attended the University of Wyoming and was a proud member of the Sigma Nu fraternity. He graduated in 1952 with a B.S. degree in Pharmacology as part of the first graduating class of the University Of Wyoming School Of Pharmacy. In 1953, he was drafted into the Army during the Korean War and served at Camp Roberts in Monterey, California. He moved back to Casper and began his career, first working for Kimball Drug and then opening Clinical Arts Pharmacy, which he successfully ran for 30+ years.

He married Anita Benton in October of 1965. They were active members of the community as well as the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. George served in many capacities in church, including but not limited to, the Casper Third Ward Bishop and a counselor in the Casper Wyoming Stake Presidency. He was always willing to give of his time to others and will always be remembered by the many friends and family whom he served.

George had a quick wit and an optimistic nature. Up until the end, he was always 'never better'. He loved his family, his home, the state of Wyoming, and a good piece of candy or ice cream. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed many adventures in the hills and captured it all on his trusty camera. All that knew him will miss his infectious giggle and charitable actions.

George is survived by his wife, Anita Rummel (Casper); his daughters – Sona Rummel (Casper) and Rena Goade (Sandy, UT) and her husband, Casey; and his four grandchildren, Paige, AJ, Emily, and Ethan Snell (Sandy, UT).

A memorial service will take place in the spring of 2018. At this time, donations in his name to Central Wyoming Hospice or the Casper Humane Society are greatly appreciated.
