Genevieve (Billie) Grubtill, 97, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at Central Wyoming Hospice on Wednesday, June 20, 2012.
A viewing will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, June 24th at Newcomer Family Funeral Home. There will be a Graveside Memorial Service at 1 p.m. on Monday, June 25th at Highland Cemetery.
Billie was born to James and Maude Travis on October 1, 1914 in Glenwood, Iowa. She married Joseph Grubtill (deceased) January 29, 1931. Billie was a full-time housewife.
She enjoyed gardening, sewing, and embroidering. Her passion was her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren. She had a love for her dogs and cats throughout her life.
Billie was known for her bright cheerful smile and
simply as "Grandma Billie."
Billie is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Chuck) Voris of Omaha and grandchildren John Voris, Diane Durham, and Steve Voris, and their children; Maxine Roman of Casper and grandchildren Cindy Roman and Sue Roman; Donna Santistevan of Casper and grandchildren, Alfredo (Loretta Credo) Santistevan and his children; Kathy (Ron) Jackson and their children; Chris (Elsa) Santistevan; Carla Santistevan and her pet Jazzie; granddaughter Karrie (Scott) Harrington, and her children.
She is preceded in death by her daughter Jeannine Wolfe: son-in-laws Harold Wolfe, Larry Roman, and Fred Santistevan; granddaughter Billie Jo (Santistevan) King and grandson-in-law Chip King, and grandson Craig Wolfe.
Pallbearers are Alfredo Santistevan, Chris Santistevan, Tara Santistevan, Rahnee Jackson and Rickie Sharp. Honorary pallbearers are Ron Jackson, Scott Harrington, John Voris and Steve Voris.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked for memorials to be made directly to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson St., Casper, WY 82601.
