Genevieve Elaine Cross, 72, passed away July 6, 2009 at Central Wyoming Hospice. She was born in Casper Wyoming on December 31, 1936 to Lloyd Edward Miller and Mabel Esther (Johnson) Miller. She graduated from Natrona County High School in 1955 and lived all but 6 months of her life in Casper. She married Theodore S. Cross on August 17, 1956.
She said the greatest joys of her life were the births of her three children Kim, Jan, and Kay and of her two grandchildren Brenda and David. Genevieve loved being with the horses, cats and dogs on their ranch, taking trail rides on Casper Mountain, hiking, camping and traveling. Later in life she used a walker but it never slowed her down. She especially enjoyed the accessible nature trails on Muddy Mountain. She was a gifted china painter and a talented cake decorator. She had a passion for flowers and enjoyed the birds and butterflies that would come visit her flower gardens. She worked as a pediatrics aide in the Hospital for several years and volunteered for Stephens Ministry and Central Wyoming Hospice. She also served as a children's ministry leader with the Women in the Word Bible Study for a number of years.
Genevieve loved the Lord and blessed many people with her graciousness. She will be missed greatly by her many friends and her family. She was precious to everyone who ever met her. Genevieve's favorite passages from the Bible were Psalms 23 and 91. While she loved almost all hymns, her favorite was "In the Garden."
She is preceded in death by her parents and her son Jan Theodore Cross. She is survived by her Husband, Theodore Cross; daughters, Kim Long and Kay Cross; brother, Duane Miller and grandchildren, Brenda Randall and David Long.
A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday July 18 at 2:00pm at Cornerstone Evangelical Free Church, 4100 Casper Mountain Rd.
Memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice or the MS foundation.
