Gene Marvin Harne
A celebration of the life of Gene Marvin Harne, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, April 14, 2008, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home with Pastor Tim Adams officiating. He died April 9, 2008 at Wyoming Medical Center.
Gene M. Harne, 63, worked for Custom Energy Construction for 28 years, in the gas fields of Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and Alaska. He also worked on new home construction, also as a draftsman, and in lumberyards.
He was born February 8, 1945 in Pierre, SD son of Marvin and Gladys (Marshall) Harne. He spent part of his childhood in the Nimrod-Sebeka area at his Aunt Alice's and he was very close to his cousins. He also lived in Harvey, ND and graduated from Velva High School in 1963. He attended Moorehead State College, Wapheton State School of Science, University of Minnesota, Rocky Mountain College in Billings, and Minneapolis School of Drafting.
He loved old cars especially his 63 Chevy Impala. He was a fanatic hunter and fisherman, fishing both summers and winters. He loved to read and work, especially building pipe lines and gas plants. When he wasn't planning where to apply to hunt he was figuring out what gun to use or whether to build a new one and which scope to use. He would poll his friends for the best odds for each area along with bullshitting about what they were all going to hunt and who was going to get the big buck.
He lived and worked in Casper, WY for the past 10 years. His family, home, friends, life, passions, and livelihood were in Cut Bank for the past 31 years. He is survived by his wife Phyllis in Cut Bank, MT, daughter Laura of Bozeman, son Craig of Bozeman, and his sister Neva of Beulah, ND, along with nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The family would appreciate any desired donations to be given to the donor's choice.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
