Gayle Harold Anderson, born in Hettinger North Dakota on September 24th, 1950, to Harold John Anderson and Dorothy Anne Exman-Anderson.
Gayle went to school in Montana from 1955 – 1959 before moving back to South Dakota. He attended high school in Bison in 1966 where he played football and wrestled. During the summer he would work on the family ranch. After graduation he joined the North Dakota National Guard from 1970 – 1976 and worked for Doc Ucker. He then went to work as a lineman in Kansas. At this point, Gayle became a bit of a nomad. In the late 70's he started hauling water for the oilfields around Gillette WY. In 1980 he moved to Kaycee WY where he worked for SheridanJohnson REA. During the same year, on Thanksgiving Day, he met Virginia K Johnson. They were married on 12/23/1980. They welcomed their son William Harold Anderson on 01/28/1982. Gayle worked several odd jobs until he met Gary Duncan and started work for the Bar C (-C) ranch.
In 1985 he moved the family to Minnesota where he worked again with Gary as an over-the-road truck driver. In the 90's the family moved to CA to take care of Gayle's mother-in-law. During this time in his life, Gayle started a career in private security and law enforcement. After the passing of his mother-in-law, he moved the family to Helena MT where he worked as security for the state capital complex before resigning and going to work for the Security Armored Express as an armed guard. 7 Years later Gayle moved the family back to MN where he worked as a dairyman while worked at the co-op in Perham. During the 2000's Gayle made one more big move back to WY where he worked in the oil and gas industry for about a year. He then went to work for the Wyoming State Penitentiary as a correctional officer in 2002 where he spent the next 13 years. He retired from WSP in 2015 and worked part time at Walmart in Rawlins WY.
Gayle passed away on Friday, May 20th 2022 at Wyoming Medical Center in Casper WY.
He was proceeded in death by his father, Harold John Anderson (2011) and his mother, Dorothy ExmanAnderson (1971.)
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Virginia K Johnson- Anderson of Rawlins WY, his son William (Heather) Anderson of Casper WY, and his brother, Doug (Carol) Anderson of Spearfish SD.
