Gary H. Cohee passed away peacefully February 19, 2020 at Wyoming Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family.
Gary was born in Scribner, NE to Leonard and Helen Cohee on September 12, 1939. Gary graduated high school in Diller, NE in 1957.He married Yvonne McDaniel in January 1961.
Gary initially enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1958 and was discharged in 1962. Duty called and he re-enlisted in 1965 where he served his country honorably until his retirement in 1982. Gary completed three tours of Viet Nam where he was awarded two purple hearts and a silver star, along with other service medals.
After retiring from the Marine Corps, Gary enjoyed a second career as a long haul truck driver where he received multiple awards for service and was recognized as "Driver of the Year."
Following his second retirement, Gary returned to a life of service. He was a member of the Elks Lodge, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Natrona County United Veterans' Council. He worked tirelessly to ensure that all war veterans receive proper military respects at their passing. Gary also served as a member of the church council at Grace Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Yvonne; daughters, Lynn Cohee of Casper; Kris Hedges of Aliso Viejo, CA; Kelly (Jeff) Wrasper of Mesa, AZ; grandsons Michael and Kent Hedges, Mitchell Wrasper; granddaughter Katherine Wrasper; one sister, Joyce Kisling of Greely, CO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen; brothers Curtis and Kirby; and daughter Deanne.

Per Gary's wishes, services are tentatively scheduled in July. He didn't want anyone out in the cold on his account.
