Emergency Medical Services responded immediately to the residence of Gary H. Bartlett after he suffered a sudden cardiac arrest in the early morning hours while having a peaceful conversation with his wife. Upon reaching Sage West Health Care in Riverton, WY his outcome seemed grim and medical personnel prepared the family for the worse. Moments latter due to cardiac stability, he was transferred via life-flight to Wyoming Medical Center and admitted to ICU where he passed away hours later.
Gary was born in Lincoln, Nebraska and moved to Wyoming with his family when he was a young child. He graduated in Wyoming from Shoshoni High School in 1965. He worked strenuously on his family's farm and helped surrounding neighbors in times of need. He was drafted into the Armed Forces as a United States Marine where he served his country. Upon completion of his Marine Corps. training, specializing in mechanics, he spent years working on
drilling rigs and married his life-long partner Lorna Longtine. For a period of time he was employed by the City of Riverton and eventually launched his favorite career at PathfinderLucky Mac Uranium Recovery Facility located in the Gas Hills Mining District where he remained employed for several years.
Gary always had a gentle and giving spirit, he never had an issue helping any one person at any one time. He will be remembered as an extraordinary husband, father, and friend to many.
A condensed version of Gary's survivors and those who precede him in death include: wife Lorna; daughter Star R. Bartlett-Rone with husband BLu McGrath and their boys Patrick and Matthew McGrath who reside in North Platte, NE; son Chance "Whobee" Bartlett and wife Stephanie; daughter Twyla "Darling" Bartlett and husband Justin Brown; and son Dustyn "Guy" Bartlett, all who reside in Riverton, Wyoming.
He is united in death by his son Arliss Bartlett and his parents, Glen and Vivia Bartlett.
