Fred Martinson, 64, passed away Sunday, February 5, 2012 peacefully at his home. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 3:00 PM at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, 318 E. 6th St in Casper.
Fred was born in Virginia, MN to Ernest and Sophie Martinson. He graduated from Cloquet High School in 1965, attended college, and then enlisted in the Army. Upon his discharge, he attended trade school to become a mechanic. For over 40 years, Fred was well known and respected in his field until his retirement in 2011.
In 1981 his family moved to Casper, WY. Soon after, he got involved in Motorcycle Observed Trials, serving in local, regional and national organizations. Trials has been a Martinson family sport and his sons and grandsons continue to compete at state and national levels. His heart and soul were truly in this sport.
Fred is survived by his wife of 35 years, Barbara, sons Derek (Melissa) and Brian (Kori). Near and dear to his heart were his: grandsons Breyden, Evan, Kolton and Adam; Brother Michael (Linda) and Sister Peggy Milberger (Scot), his extended family, and the entire trials community.
