Fred H. Savage, aged 69, passed away on July 11, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family.
Mr. Savage is survived by his wife Marie, four children: Sharon Savage and husband Keith Picthall, Cameron Savage and wife Rachel, Annie Keith and husband Jason, Fred Savage and wife Alissa. He also left behind his four beloved grand children with one more on the way.
Born in Millinocket, Maine on January 2nd, 1950, Mr. Savage served his country with honor; he eventually migrated west and became a true Wyomingite at heart.
A Vietnam veteran and member of the 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, an award winning author, and a committed teacher, Mr. Savage dedicated his life to children everywhere. His works ranged from poetry, to western tales, to a riveting tale about child abuse and neglect ending in a far off place called Vietnam - it was his story and this was how he told it.
Fair or unfair… HE made a difference.
Whether it was hypnotizing chickens or wrestling a bear, his good humor and love of life made better and inspired all of those whom he touched.
Services for the public will be held at Christ United Methodist Church, 1868 South Poplar Street, Casper, Wyoming 82601 at 1:00 PM on Thursday July 25th, 2019. He will be interred privately at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to either the Children's Advocacy Project at http://childrensadvocacyproject.org, or the Casper Humane Society.
