CASPER -- A memorial service will be held for Frank H. Lyons, 74, on Saturday, March 03, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at Newcomer Family Funeral Home with Jim Ritter officiating.
A graveside service will be held at Mount Olivet in Wheatridge, Colo., on Monday, March 5, 2007, at 11 a.m.
He died Feb. 27, 2007.
He was born Aug. 31, 1932, in Middle River, Md., and was raised in Maryland, Michigan, and California.
He served his country in the Air Force as an electronics technician during the Korean War.
He was married on July 30, 1956, to Barbara Jane Ballard of Douglas.
He worked at the Colorado Medical Center filming new, innovative surgeries and then he ran his own electronics business. He finished his career with Burlington Northern Railroad, where he retired in 2001.
He spent his retirement years flagging on a highway department crew, remodeling houses, and driving a school bus in Glenrock, his personal favorite.
He loved spending time outside in the Rocky Mountains fishing, hiking, and especially camping with his family. Family and an awesome sense of humor were his strengths.
His favorite pastimes were golfing and bowling. He went to a national bowling tournament every year for 14 years.
Survivors include his wife, three daughters, Cindy, Stacy, and Patty; one son, Frank III; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The family would appreciate memorials sent to the American Cancer Society.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
