Longtime Casper resident, Frank C. Hible passed away December 29, 2011 at the age of 87. His family shared in his passing to the Lord during his stay at the Central Wyoming Hospice House.
Frank was born April 6, 1924 to Jerry and Mary (Brejcka)Hible who were immigrants from the Czech Republic. At the age of 13 he entered the Civilian Conservation Corps where he spent two and half years in the Saratoga Wyoming Camp. He always maintained that this was the best education that any one could have received during this time.
He was drafted into the army in 1943 and was stationed in the Aleutian Islands until he was injured in a truck accident. He then spent one and a half years in Macaw General Hospital, where he worked as a nigh supervisor and attained the rank of Tech 5th Grade. He was discharged in 1946 with Asiatic Pacific, Good Conduct and Expert Rifleman Medals. His employment included his time with the Burlington Railroad, Ringsby Freight and serving as a City of Casper bus driver. In 1982 he retired from the Casper Amoco Oil Refinery after 30 years as an operator.
He raised 4 children with Sallie Vitto whom he married in 1950. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and one son, Farley Dean Hible. Survivors include his wife, daughters Chery Cooper ( Mell), Daryce Gleich, son Brad Hible, one brother, three sisters and eight grandchildren.
His interests included camping, garage sales, politics and being a handy man. He prided himself as being a jack of all trades. He will be missed by all.
A visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home on Wednesday January 4, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 PM with a Rosary Service at 7:00 PM. Services will be held on Thursday January 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church at 10:30 AM.
