Funeral Services will be held for Frank and Sharon Palmer on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery Chapel.
Frank was born September 15, 1933 in Cloquet, Minnesota. Sharon Haynes was born March 10, 1941 in Cheyenne, Wyoming. They were married September 30, 1961 in California. They were Casper residents of 36 years.
Frank was well known in the Rocky Mountain area as a well experienced heavy equipment mechanic in the construction and mining fields. He was in the US Navy from 1952-1956. An avid collector of guns, when retired he started buying old cars for restoration. He and his best friend liked to go road tripping in search of old cars.
Sharon worked off and on through the years. She liked to weave baskets and she made some beautiful ones. They both liked to travel and visit family.
Preceded in death by Frank's parents; John Palmer and Katheryn Lyons, sisters, Shirley Palmer and Betty Snelson, brothers, Joseph and John Palmer. Sharon's parents; Gilbert Haynes and Nona Probasco and brother Larry Haynes.
They are survived by sons, Don of Casper, and Frank of San Diego. Granddaughters, Dahra and Akiko of Casper. Frank's brother, David of Osburn, Idaho, and sisters Jean Foutz and Evelyn Schamp, both of Lander, WY. Sharon's sister, Jean Michelena and her husband, Mitch of Buffalo, WY. They are also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Memorials may be made to the Frank and Sharon Memorial Fund in care of Newcomer Funeral Home.
