Frank James "Buck" Fisher

A celebration of life will be held to honor Frank James "Buck" Fisher on Tuesday October 10th at St. Patrick's Catholic Church @ 10:30 am. A viewing will take place between 5-7pm with a rosary to follow at Newcomer funeral home chapel on Monday October 9th.

Frank passed away October 3rd 2017. Frank was born February 29th, 1924 in Casper Wyoming to Frank & Genevieve Fisher. He graduated from Natrona County High school in 1941 and began employment at White's Sheet Metal where he learned the sheet metal trade. Frank joined the Army in 1943 which took him to: Normandy, France, Luxemburg, and Germany until 1946.

Frank married his high school sweetheart Lois Elaine Humphreys on August 20th in 1946 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. They remained wed for 71 years and created their loving family of 5 children. He went back to work at White's before opening Fisher Sheet Metal in 1957. He designed and patented a line of protective instrument enclosures which he produced until retiring in 1997.

Frank was a friend to all he met. He found the good in everyone and everything and was universally well liked. Frank remained in contact with his army buddies and was the last survivor of the men with whom he served. Frank's faith was extremely important to him. He was an active member of the Catholic Church and lived his life in keeping with his faith.

His passions included donating his time, building his business, raising a family and traveling in their 5th wheel. Other interests included fishing, golfing, playing cards, and photography. He was a lifetime member of the Elks Lodge, Lions Club, and Good Sam's Club in addition to serving on the Evansville City Council.

Frank's legacy is one of endless giving, laughter, strength, and an unwavering faith. He will be missed but never forgotten. He is survived by his bride Lois Fisher and five children, Mary Ann (Joe) Tremel, Dan (Dana) Fisher, Kathy (Jerry) Stoneking, Barb (Eric) Olson and Tom Fisher. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate memorial contributions to St. Patrick's Catholic Church.
