Frank G. Centanino

April 26, 1955 — December 7, 2023

Frank G. Centanino was born on April 26th, 1955 at the Casper Memorial Hospital to Frank A. and Fay (Carter) Centanino. He passed away December 7th, 2023, at age 68.

He attended Mountain View Elementary, Dean Morgan Jr. High and graduated in 1973 from Natrona County High School. He enjoyed attending his 50th year class reunion in July of this year 2023. Frank attended the University of Wyoming, studying geology.

Frank was raised attending United Methodist Church.

Frank learned his strong work ethic from an early age. His parents built the house he grew up in, working alongside them. His mother made him his very own carpenter's apron to hold his own hammer and nails at age 3.

At age 14 his parents decided to put a basement under the existing house. They all pitched in....crawling and digging. Because of this daring project, Frank learned to drive so he could haul the dirt out on Poison Spider/Oregon Trail and empty the truck, making many many trips.

Thus Frank's OREGON TRAIL experience!

Frank also worked on several ranches in his teens, building fences, moving cattle, driving haying machinery and tossing hay bales on to wagons. No fancy equipment back then...earning $1.00 an hour! Frank helped on many ranches during branding seasons as well for decades to come.

After graduating Frank became a welder for Wyoming Machinery.

In 1976 Frank met his future wife, Judy Hillyer, who was visiting from Colorado. They met at Faith Assembly of God where her aunt and uncle ministered. Frank and Judy grew their relationship long distance, until 1977 when Judy moved to Wyoming and went to work for the Natrona County School District from which she retired in 2013. Frank and Judy were married in August of 1978. To this union 2 sons were born. Paul in 1979 and Stephen in 1986. Frank was so proud of them.

In 1981, Frank went to work for AMOCO Production as a Production/ Oil Pumper. His boss Danny Morse could count on Frank to solve and fix about any problem in the field! After 16 years Frank was offered a job over at AMOCO Pipeline. He was hired by Truman Dickeson who made such a demanding job SO ENJOYABLE. He also loved working for Dennis Calder who had worked his way up through the ranks and understood what the job entailed.

Frank retired in 2010 so he could try to keep his parents in the home he helped them build. Frank worked as a part time driver, delivering parts for NAPA. He really enjoyed this and being part time he could still help his parents.

Frank's dad passed in 2014 and his mother in 2016.

After Frank and Judy were both retired they followed their dream to spend winters in Arizona. They really embraced the lifestyle. Frank loved living close to Roosevelt Lake, boating and fishing. He was very much loved in the community and will be so missed.

Frank loved hunting...feeding his family with elk, deer, antelope and moose if he could draw the license. His BEST hunts were his Big Horn Sheep and massive Bison! Kent and Andrew Sundell were very helpful with bagging those incredible animals.

Frank is preceded in death by his parents, brother Mark, and his beloved Aunt Verla Carter. Also his mother and father in law and a brother in law.

He is survived by his wife and 2 sons, two sisters as well as numerous cousins on the Roat side in Red Lodge, Montana and cousins on the west coast.

Cremation has taken place, a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 25th, from 2pm-5pm at Izaak Walton Clubhouse, 4205 Fort Caspar Rd, Casper, WY 82604 (Behind Fort Caspar Museum) for the people he loved and that loved him.
