Francisca Quiroz Eccles passed into the Kingdom of Heaven February 27th, 2024. Francisca was born August 21st 1943 in Fabens, Texas to her beloved mother Elena Castro and father Syvestre Castro. Born to Spanish speaking parents she taught herself English and would often translate for older family members, including her grandpa, who she adored.
She moved to Illinois in 1967 where she was employed as a translator for migrant workers. It was in Rochelle, Illinois where she met her husband, Lawrence Eccles, while both were working in computer operations at Swift and Company. Upon first seeing him she told a friend, "that's the kind of guy I'm going to marry." They would fall in love and be married 53 years, until her passing. She and her husband moved to Casper, Wyoming in 1977. She had her son, Brian, in 1979. She would often refer to him as the 'sunshine of her life'. There she fought for starting a Spanish mass in Casper. She also proudly helped undocumented persons become legal citizens through a government program offered at the time.
Further, she would study and obtain a degree in addictionology. She was simply the most wonderful and beautiful mom and wife to her son and husband. She was so very strong, loving, and kind. To say she will be greatly missed does not express how incredibly deep of a loss this is to those who loved her. She is survived by her son Brian, husband Lawrence, brother Junior, and sisters Carmen, Eustolia, Lucy, Lydia, Nell, and Vera.
