Frances Kathryn Dixon was born to Ira and Amanda (Moeller) Dixon on August 17, 1922 and passed to her Heavenly home on November 11, 2015 at the age of 93.
She grew up on a farm near Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. Following her high school graduation, Frances moved to McPherson, Kansas to attend Central Christian College. She continued her education at Greenville College in Greenville, Illinois, graduating in 1944 with majors in biology, education and a minor in English. Frances returned to McPherson, Kansas where she taught English at Central Christian College for one year. She moved to Casper in 1945, worked briefly as a clerk before being hired at the Amoco Refinery in August of 1946 where she worked as an Executive Secretary in Employee Relations and Safety. She retired from Amoco in January, 1983 after 36 years of service. Always active in local organizations, she served in roles such as treasurer for the local chapter of the WCTU. Additional activities which occupied a good deal of her time were traveling and reading about a wide range of topics. She always seemed to have a book in hand. Her top priority, however, was faithfully serving God - demonstrated in part by many leadership roles at the Casper First Church of the Nazarene. Her life has been characterized by her devotion to her God, church, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ira and Amanda Dixon, and two brothers, Lloyd and Merlin.
Surviving her are four nieces and two nephews and their families along with many dear friends.
A family memorial was held in Ft. Calhoun, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held December 6, 2015, at 1:00 PM at First Church of the Nazarene, 2020 S. Jefferson, Casper, WY.
