Mrs. Carr died peacefully of natural causes surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 25, 2018 at Central Wyoming Hospice.
Evelyn was born July 6, 1921, at her Aunt Maggie's residence in Gillette, WY, the daughter of Lawrence D. and Clara A. (Weckwerth) Brennan. She was raised at the family ranch at Rozet, WY, and attended high school in Newcastle. In 1939, Evelyn married Myron Carr at the Catholic Church in Newcastle. To this union six children were born. Evelyn and Myron resided in the Osage oil field for many years. In 1978, they moved to Newcastle and lived there until Myron's passing in 1998. Evelyn continued to live in Newcastle until 2010 when she chose to move to Casper to be closer to family. Evelyn was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed sewing, gardening, and collecting artifacts. She was a member of the Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Newcastle and St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Casper. Evelyn took great joy in the time she could spend with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two daughters, Betty Jo and Jean, one son, James, four sisters, and two brothers.
Survivors include two daughters, Myra Galligan (Dick), Elaine Burns; one son, Kenneth Carr (Cheryl); and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made in Evelyn's name to Central Wyoming Hospice.
