Evelyn Alice Mobley, 93, of Casper, died Sunday, May 25, 2014, in Wichita Falls, TX. She was born in a small cabin called the Peanut Shell on November 9, 1920 in Burlington, WY.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Highland Cemetery with Bishop Kleinman officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, May 30, 2014, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm at the Newcomer Funeral Home Chapel.
Evelyn graduated from Burlington High School in 1939 and she was married to Eugene Mobley on August 24, 1940. Together they farmed in the Big Horn Basin area for many years, they moved to California for some time to be close to Eugene's family. The family eventually settled in Casper in 1958. Evelyn enjoyed traveling with her brothers and sisters which involved many cruises. She held close her Irish heritage, she was a lifetime member of the LDS Church, most of all she enjoyed her time with her family whom she treasured and adored. Evelyn will always be remembered for her steadfast faith, her kind spirit, and her ability to turn the other cheek and accept others for who they are.
She is survived by children, Gerald (Ann) Mobley of Broomfield, CO, Kathleen (Gordon) Register of Wichita Falls, TX and Theresa (Ray) Bush of Casper, WY; 8 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren, 7 Great-Great-Grandchildren; brothers, Wesley Gormley of Burlington, WY and Richard Gormley of Cody, WY; numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents, Palmer and Theresa Gormley, husband, Eugene Mobley; two brothers; three sisters; grandson, Tony Broadhurst; and great-granddaughter, Rachael Bush.
Memorials may be made to the Hospice Care of the donor's choice in Evelyn's name.
