Eunice M. Anderson
CHEYENNE – At her request, graveside services for Eunice M Anderson, 81, will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 17, 2007, at the Valley View Cemetery in Torrington, Wyoming. Eunice died of natural causes on March 13th, 2007 in Casper, Wyoming.
She was born March 11, 1926, in Torrington, Wyoming to Thomas W. and Anna M. Bracken. Eunice grew up on a farm in the Hawk Springs, Wyoming area with her seven siblings. She studied music at the University of Nebraska and at Colorado State University. After college, she worked as a dental assistant before marrying John Dale Anderson on October 2, 1948. Later she resumed working as a dental assistant in order to help put her children through college.
Eunice was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Cheyenne, Chapter S of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and of the Laramie County Republican Women.
Mrs. Anderson served as an active volunteer for the Cheyenne Regional Hospital Auxiliary for many years. She was also employed as a secretary for the Wyoming State Legislature and was active in the political process, serving as a Precinct Person, an Election Judge and a strong supporter of issues and candidates.
She loved music and was involved with symphonies, wherever she lived. She played in a string ensemble in Torrington, Wyoming, played the viola for the Casper Symphony, and served on the board of directors for the Stockton (California) Symphony and the Cheyenne Symphony.
Some of her favorite pastimes included cooking, spending time with her grandchildren (in fact, all children), snuggling with her pets, and supporting the Wyoming Cowboys.
She is survived by her daughter, Janet Anderson and her two sons, Thomas (& Judi) Anderson and Dr. James (& Cody) Anderson. Her grandchildren include Samantha Anderson, Stuart and Brandi Atnip, DesaRae and Jeff Janzsen, Brock Anderson, Ryan Anderson, and Colter Anderson. Her great grandchildren are Dallen Atnip, Cody and Sydney Janzsen.
Survivors include sister Zeta Dodge, brothers Tom and John Bracken, brother-in-law Harvey Lauer and sister-in-law Willa Browne. She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John Dale Anderson; brothers, Keith and Bud Bracken; sisters Nellie Marlatt and Betty Lauer and her parents.
Newcomers Funeral Home of Casper and Colyer's Funeral Home of Torrington are coordinating the arrangements.
