Eugene "Gene" Hicks Sr., 75, of Casper, passed away Friday, October 26th, 2018.
Gene was born in Cheyenne, Wyoming on July 25th, 1943 to the late Allen and Helen Hicks. Gene and his wife moved to Casper in 1982 to be closer to family.
Gene was born in Cheyenne but moved to Rawlins where he graduated from Rawlins High School in 1961. Gene joined the Air Force in 1966 and he served during the Vietnam War. He was honorably discharged in 1970. Gene met Mary Ann in 1972 and they were married soon after. They had one son together; Eugene Hicks Jr. Gene worked as a security guard for Wakenhut Security of Casper and retired in 2006. He and Mary Ann loved to play Bingo, travel to Riverton and Deadwood to gamble, and watch the Broncos play! Gene enjoyed working in the yard and taking care of Mary Ann. Gene had a great sense of humor and made people laugh wherever he went. He had love for his cats Missy, Mindy, Callie, and Penny.
Gene is survived by his brother Richard, 5 children; Eugene Hicks Jr. (Glenda), step-son Ron McMillan Jr., step-son Davey McMillan (Shanna) all of Casper; step-son Rob McMillan (Leslie), and step-daughter Dawn Larsen (Ernie) of Rock Springs, sister-in-law Judy Hafner (Carl). He is survived by 9 grandchildren; Madison Hicks, Savanna Turville, Austyn Palmer, Jason Wilkinson, Aaron Bradshaw, Jessica McClure, Bobbi Heyborne, Joe Harrington, Jennifer Harrington, and 8 great-grandchildren; Brazi Trujillo, Bronson Wilkinson, Annabelle McClure, Lukas McClure, Scout Bradshaw, Hailey Heyborne, Evan Heyborne, and Aiden Harrington. Gene was preceded in death by the love of his life Mary Ann; wife of 46 years, his parents Allen and Helen (Wallace) Hicks, his sister Nancy (Hicks) Wilson, his twin bother Ernie Hicks, step-daughter Kim McMillan Bradshaw, step-son Scott McMillan, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Cremation will take place. Per Gene's request there will be no services held at this time.
