On Thursday, December 19, Ernest “Ernie” Michael Linton passed away at Central Wyoming Hospice. He was born February 27,1952 in Plant City, Florida to Ernest Archer and Grace (Cumbie) Linton. When a teenager his family moved to Michigan where he attended Coloma High School, graduating in 1970.
Ernie loved to play softball. He met his wife, Carole Kushel, at a softball game in Coloma. After the birth of their first daughter, Amanda Jean, Ernie moved his young family to Wyoming. It was his love of camping, hunting and fishing that drew him there. After the birth of their second daughter, Jessie Annette, Ernie continued to play softball. The little girls would stand at the fence behind the umpire and yell at their dad “hit one over the fence,” which he would do for them.
When Ernie could no longer go fishing or hunting with his buddy Hun Dog (Honey), he became an avid pool player. You could find him playing pool several days throughout the week and when he had an opportunity to play in a tournament, he was there.
Ernie is survived by his daughter, Jessie, of Casper, Wyoming and her mother, Carole. He was preceded in death by his daughter Amanda Jean, his sister Karen Hipskind, and his parents Ernest and Grace.
There will be no service at this time. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution in Ernie’s name to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions.
