On Wednesday September 23, 2020 at approximately 4:10am, Erma Lee Stoops, loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, sister, aunt, wife and friend passed peacefully from this life at the age of 93.
Erma was born on April 8, 1927 in Stillwater Oklahoma. Her parents were Ollie Belle and Oscar Lee Haley. They lived in Madill Oklahoma and she graduated from Madill High School in 1945. She was one of four children, the eldest Lloyd Haley deceased, Fredrick Lee Haley deceased, and Ida Mae McBride age 99.
She met Loyce L Stoops at a party and they were married August 5, 1944. They had their daughter Donna McMullin in Durant Ok and their son Dan Stoops in Durant, OK. The family relocated to Fort Morgan CO in 1957 until they moved to Casper WY in 1971.
She worked for years in sales and did so well they promoted her to manager of two different Montgomery Ward stores. Later in life she enjoyed creating hand crafts such as Ceramics, crochet and tole painting to sell at local craft fairs. In the last 12 years she was blessed be able to winter in Mesa AZ and develop a host of friends there in addition to the ones in WY.
She is survived by her daughter, Donna McMullin, son, Dan Stoops, grandkids Richard Buchanan, Melinda Buchanan, Rebecca Linnig, Erin Peterson, Amy Delap. Great grandchildren Richard Buchanan II, Oliver Foltz, Joshua Buchanan, Austin Dobby, Haley Linnig, Sage Dobby, Aspen Dobby, Parker Linnig and great great grandson Orion.
There is a public viewing at Newcomers Casper Chapel located at 710 E Second St, Casper WY on Saturday September 26, 2020 from 6 to 8pm and services held at the same location Monday at 11am.
