Elvin Narramore

August 31, 1929 — February 19, 2012

Elvin Russell "Russ" Narramore, 82, of Casper, WY, passed away February 19, 2012 at his home in Casper. He was born August 31, 1929 in Nampa, ID to Goldie Mae Hamilton and Tolliver Merle Narramore. He married Evelyn Mae Riggs on November 15, 1952 in Green River, WY. They lived in Wyoming until 1987 when they moved to Kingman, AZ. They returned to Casper in 1998 to be near their children.

Russ was an Army veteran and was active in the Korean War and WWII from 1950-1952.

He worked with heavy equipment, in coal mines, uranium mines, construction on the streets of Casper and later in Bull Head City, AZ, as well as on the highways and dams. He was also a foreman and superintendent on different jobs in Wyoming and Arizona.

Russ loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, camping, and snowmobiling. He loved being with his family.

Russ is survived by his wife, Evelyn; son, Merle Narramore; daughter, Deb Nicol (husband Greg); granddaughter, Rachel Sharkey (husband Brian); and great grandchild, Colton Marshall Sharkey; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Oregon Trail State Veterans' Cemetery located in Evansville, WY on February 27, 2012 at 10 AM.
