Casper, WY- Elmer Holmberg died on Tuesday October 2, 2007 in Casper, Wyoming.
Elmer Holmberg was born to Oscar and Selma Holmberg April 23, 1916 in the Hartford South Dakota area on their farm. He grew up on the farm and entered the Army in his late teens to serve his country. After he was discharged he came home and met his wife Evyleen Westphal, a school teacher, at a pie social. They married January 1, 1944 they had one son, Jeff Holmberg. They resided in Rapid City, South Dakota most of their life.
Evyleen, Elmer's wife, passed away on September 26, 1999 after her death, Elmer spent his next 3 years residing with Jeff and his wife untill Alzheimer's finally took it's toll and Elmer was taken to Poplar Living Center in Casper, Wyoming where he lived the rest of his life.
He is survived by 1 brother (Oscar Holmberg) of Chicago and 1 sister (Eldora Christenson) of Montrose, South Dakota. 1 son (Jeff and wife Becky Holmberg) of Casper, Wyoming, 4 Grandchildren and 7 Great Grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00p.m. Tuesday October 9, 2007 at Pine Lawn Cemetery Chapel, 700 Keystone Rt. Rapid City, South Dakota. Pastor Chris Lokie will be officiating.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of local arrangements
