Liz passed away on November 24, 2023 at Mountain Plaza Assisted Living. She fought a hard battle with heart failure the past nineteen months.

Liz was born December 13, 1935 on the Snow Creek Ranch near Ekalaka, Montana to parents Leonard and Mary (Wheat) Ward. She was the second youngest of eleven children. She graduated from Carter County High School in Ekalaka in 1953.

Liz was very proud of her Catholic faith. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Casper for over 50 years.

Liz married Robert E. "Bob" Schauss at Our Lady of Fatima on September 11, 1965. In 1967 their daughter Lisa was born and son, Rob was born on Lisa's first birthday in 1968. Liz had her hands full! She was an incredible mom! She supported her children 100 percent. She was very involved in their schools and activities.

Liz loved being a Grandma and Great Grandma! Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her favorite pastime was singing nursery rhymes while rocking with them. Also, there were no rules for them at her house.

Liz was a caregiver to many. She helped anyone in need. She was very supportive and a great listener. She welcomed anyone into her home. The six chairs around the dinner table were always occupied. Liz was always dressed to the nines. She took pride in being the best dressed lady in the room! She was an amazing cook! Her fudge, potato salad, and spaghetti were the top requests from her menu.

Liz worked at Mountain Bell from 1953 to 1965. She was a homemaker from 1965 to 1986. Starting in 1986, she worked at several retail stores. She worked at Wyoming Medical Center as a PCT on 4-Medical from 1992 to 2011.

Liz was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sisters, Nellie, Luella, Gladys, and Dorothy; her brother, John; two infant brothers; several brothers-in-law; her sister-in-law, Margaret Wyatt; and nieces and nephews.

Liz is survived by daughter, Lisa (Kevin) Eberle; son, Rob (Robin) Schauss; granddaughters, Michaela (Joe) Beals and Shelby Schauss; grandson, Tyler Kroll; great granddaughters, Kinlee Gunderson-Beals; great grandsons, Hayes Beals, Beckam Snell, and Briggs Beals all of Casper.
