Elizabeth Lee Laney

September 4, 1918 — February 4, 2014

Born Elizabeth Lee to John N. and Geraldine Beattie on September 4, 1918 in Denver, Colorado. The family moved to Casper in 1923. She attended St. Anthony School and was in the first graduating class of 1930. She was one of the last two surviving members of that class. She graduated from NCHS in 1934 at the age of 15.

She married Ralph (Pete) Laney on June 26, 1937 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. They had two daughters, Luanne and Linda.

Betty was a member of Casper Duplicate Bridge Club, ACBL bridge club and achieved a Life Master in 2010. She was a past member of Casper Service League, Fine Arts, Casper Country Club, Casper Petroleum Club, Platte River Pearls and was a life-long member of St. Anthony's Church.

She loved gardening, cooking and most of all her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother William (Tarz) Beattie, a sister, Mary Jane Bever and her husband, Pete, of fifty nine years. She is survived by her two daughters, Luanne Harvey of San Diego, California and Linda (Lou) Roussalis of Casper, one brother, Jack, of Los Angeles, California, 3 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Vigil and rosary will be held at 7:00 PM, Monday, February 10, 2014 at Newcomer Chapel. Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church.Interment at Highland Cemetery followed by a reception and luncheon at the Casper Petroleum Club.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to the Central Wyoming Hospice or a charity of your choice in Betty's name.
