Elda was the eldest of 3 children born to Wallace and Lida Stout in Crawfordsville, Indiana on April 12, 1927. She was an honor student, cheerleader and played in the Ladoga High School band. It was during her high school years that she found the love of her life, Jack Johnson only to see him get drafted into the Navy and sent off to World War II. Upon his return, Jack moved to Casper, Wyoming and called for Elda to join him. On November 3, 1946, Elda and Jack were married and began their life of 65 years together. This marriage was blessed with 3 children, Merry Elda, Gayla Ann and John R. III.
Elda worked beside her husband to help build 2 homes in Casper where they raised their family. She was a woman of many talents. Elda sewed, crocheted, tooled leather, gardened and canned her fresh produce, played the piano and accordion. She loved camping and fishing in the outdoors with her family and grandkids. Elda also loved hummingbirds. She kept the feeders full all the time so she could watch the beautiful little birds from her windows. Elda's quiet time included reading and doing crossword puzzles.
Elda was preceded in death by her parents Wallace and Lida Stout and a daughter, Merry Elda Moore. Survivors include her husband, Jack, brothers Rodney Stout of Exidor California and William Stout of Indianapolis, Indiana, son, John R. III of Weatherford, Texas, daughter Gayla (Larry) Bock of Sundance, Wyoming, son in law, Butch (Maxine) Moore, Casper Wyoming, grand kids Frank (Cori) Moore, Casper, Wyoming, Harley Eppler (Jessica), Portland, Oregon, Devin Eppler (Lonnie) Fort Worth, Texas, great grand kids, Richard Moore and Brooklyn Moore of Casper, Wyoming and great great grand daughter Reece of Casper, Wyoming.
Elda had a heart of gold and would do anything to help anyone and will be missed by all who knew her.
