Edwin "Eddie" Jones, 68, passed away August 31, 2012 at his home in Casper, Wyoming. Eddie was born August 28, 1944 in Jasper, Texas to Thomas and Cleo Jones. He graduated in 1963 from Morgan City High School in Morgan City, Louisiana.
Eddie served four year in the United States Army and fought in the Vietnam War. He was proud to be a veteran and was a lifetime member of the V.F.W and American Legion.
In 1967, Eddie joined the welders Local Union 798, as a journeyman welder after serving in the Army. He worked in many states as well as overseas. Eddie was a hard worker, and took his welding home in many projects for friends and family. While on a job in Big Piney, Wyoming he met his future wife and love of his life during an argument over what is a "proper" pork chop.
On December 31, 1986 Eddie married Rose Hughbanks in Casper, the town they would later make their home. During his time in Casper he could always be counted on for help with repairs around the house and on vehicles. His ironworking projects will remain cherished items by all of his friends and family.
He was a spiritual man and a member of Boyd Avenue Baptist Church. Eddie enjoyed working in his shop, fishing, target shooting with his guns, visiting with friends and discussing politics with anyone who would listen. He was a member of the American Gold Prospectors Club. The two most important things in his life were his wife Rose and daughter Amanda, who he loved and cherished.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents Thomas and Cleo Jones, and his son Jack Brannon Jones. Eddie is survived by his loving wife Rose Marie Jones, daughters Amanda and Stacy Jones, and four grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at 10am followed by an 11am service at Newcomers Funeral Home in Casper on Wednesday, September 5, 2012.
