Edward Paul Brunette was born on August 21, 1947 to John Paul Brunette and Veronica (Nickerson) Brunette in Langdon, North Dakota. Ed moved with is family to Casper in 1950. Ed graduated from Natrona County High School in 1966. On July 30, 1966, he married his grade school and high school sweetheart Connie Sanders.
At an early age, Ed's father Paul Brunette taught him to weld. Paul taught Ed that welding is a fine art and "sloppiness" is not allowed. Before Ed could join the pipefitters he had to pass his dads tests. Ed did with flying colors. Ed began his welding career with WATCO in 1966-1967. He then joined the welding team at BS&B in 1967-1976. Ed and Connie were blessed with two children. Laurie Ann in 1969 and Brian in 1976. On March 1, 1976, Ed joined the Plumbers and Pipefitters, Locals 192 and 193. Ed was a journeymen welder and certified in all positions. Ed was also a welding instructor at Casper College. In 1994, Ed began fulfilling the next 20 years of his career working with his good friend Tony Chaput at Scott Equipment, which was sold to JW Measurement and in 2014 became Legacy Measurement. In weekly meetings with Ed's crew he always thrived on "Quality not Quantity" and "guys we got to have100% in all areas"
When Ed was younger he loved to hunt and fish. He taught Laurie Ann and Brian the values and safety of hunting and being outdoors. To this day, Brian continues to hunt and guide with the same values that his dad taught him. Ed began his golfing career with his first set of Wilson golf clubs purchased from a garage sale. He struggled with those clubs so for Christmas in 2008, his family bought him a set of Jack Nicklaus clubs. Which by the way, the clubs slept next to him in his bedroom. He loved his clubs. In between golf, Ed loved to fly fish and take his boat out and troll Alcova and Pathfinder Lakes. In his quiet time, he loved to read Danielle Steele novels. Ed and Connie bought their dream home in 1995 at Alcova. Ed loved spending time out there and watering his trees, especially his evergreen Geronimo. Poor tree lived in a cage to protect it from the deer. Ed always kept his garage immaculate and organized. His buddies would comment on how clean he kept his garage floor and in fact, felt that they should take their shoes off to keep from dirtying the floor.
Ed is survived by his wife Connie of 47 years. They would have celebrated their 48th Anniversary on July 30th. Ed is also survived by his two children Laurie Ann and Brian and three beautiful grandchildren Kiana Lee (15), Keyton Paul (13) and Mackenzie Lynne (12). Ed loved his grandchildren and enjoyed being a part of their lives and attending their sporting events. Ed is survived by his father John Paul Brunette of Evansville, his sister Judy Harrison of Evansville, brother Roger Brunette (Sheryl), Colorado Springs, CO, brother Terry Brunette (Debbie), League City, TX, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Last but not least, his three favorite four legged friends, Woody Bob, Brodie and Bear.
