Edward "Ed" North, 81, passed away on Dec. 18, 2008, at his home in Casper, WY, after a short battle with leukemia. Ed was born on July 29, 1927, in Casper, WY and graduating from NCHS in 1947. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Betty Wolfe on Aug. 27, 1950, in Casper. Ed went to work at the Texaco Refinery, retiring in 1982, when it closed. Ed enjoyed pitching horse shoes, competing in several state tournaments, and also enjoyed bowling in leagues with his friends.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; and two daughters, Deborah and husband of Twin Falls, ID, and Annette and husband of Odessa, TX; and several nieces, nephews, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, two sisters, and one grandson.
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 23, 2008, at 1:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 710 E. 2nd, Casper, WY 82601.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials in Ed's name be made to Central Wyoming Hospice and Transitions, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, WY 82601, or to a charity of the donor's choice.
