CASPER -- Services for Edna Idell Payne, 98, will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at Newcomer Family Funeral Home with George Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Wyoming Memorial Gardens.
She died March 9, 2007, at Poplar Living Center.
She was born Nov. 15, 1908, in Wood Lake, Neb., the daughter of George Mitchel Hull and Jessie Gulick.
She was born and raised in Wood Lake, graduating from Wood Lake High School.
She eventually moved to Wyoming and had one child, Betty.
She homesteaded north of Douglas for five years, then moved to Casper.
She worked for Standard Oil (Amoco) 25 years. After retiring, she worked various jobs in Casper.
She was married three times and all preceded her in death.
Her hobbies were knitting, crocheting, fishing, cooking and canning.
She loved taking care of people, even feeding hungry strangers.
She'll be missed by many whose lives she touched.
Survivors include a grandson, Ken McComb and his wife of Casper, a sister, Mary V. Pitzer and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Betty L.Moore; a granddaughter, nine brothers and sisters, and her husbands, Charles Philips, Earl Stiles and Jay Payne.
Memorials may be made to Central Wyoming Hospice, 319 S. Wilson, Casper, 82601.
Newcomer Family Funeral Home will be in charge of the arrangements.
