Funeral Services will be held for Earl Howard Cox, 87, will be held at Imitate the Image Ministries, 1124 N. Elma, Casper, on Friday, June 14, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Wyoming Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2013 from 5 -7 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home. He passed away on June 10, 2013 at his home in Casper with his family by his side.
Earl was born on January 12, 1926 in Purvis, Mississippi to John Herbert and Corda (Faust) Cox. He served in the US Merchant Marines from 1944-1954. During that time he met and married Dortha Lowry on March 4, 1949. He graduated from Golden West College in Huntington, California. He was an air conditioning and heating engineer. He was in charge of the water and power building in the city of Los Angeles for 25 years. He enjoyed golf, horse racing, and dinner with his family every Sunday. Upon his retirement he moved to Casper with his beloved wife of 55 years, and purchased the Ranch House Motel, which he ran until his passing.
He is preceded in death by his wife, parents, two sisters and two brothers.
He is survived by his two sons, James Cox (Joann) and Richard Cox (Candy), and daughter, Susan Sawyer (Leonard). He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Earl was a grandfather to all.
