Obituary
Earl "Dean" Castle, 77, of Casper, passed away May 14, 2009 at his home surrounded by family and friends.
He was born Aug. 4, 1931, the son of Earl W. and Rosa R. Baughman Castle in Mitchell, NE. The family moved to Douglas in 1932. He was educated in the Douglas schools, graduating high school in 1950.
In 1952 he went to work for the Wyoming Highway Dept., retiring Aug. 13, 1993 after 41 years. He served in the National Guard for 8 years and 6 months active duty at Fort Knox, KY. In the fall of 1956 he became ill with polio and could not serve his country any longer.
On May 28, 1954 he was united in marriage to Carol Evelyn Johnson and to this union 3 children were born.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Carol, 3 children, Debra Jean Bagner (Ed), Patricia Ann Schaff (Les) and Richard Dean Castle (Donna). There are 5 grandsons and 1 granddaughter, 7 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters, 3 sisters and 1 brother.
Dean was a Christian within the Seventh Day Adventist beliefs.
Memorial services will be Thursday, May 21, 2009, 2 PM at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2625 Casper Mountain Rd. with Elder Gordon Henderson officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Central Wyoming Hospice Home or Jason's Friends. Arrangements under the direction of Newcomer Funeral Home.
