Dwight W. Knott

October 2, 1933 — May 31, 2014

Dwight was born in 1933 to Donald and Opal Knott. He grew up on a farm in Lingle, Wyoming with his three brothers. He graduated high school in Lingle and went on to the University Of Wyoming where he met and married his wife Dorothy. Upon graduation the couple moved to Gillette, Wyoming where Dwight accepted a job with the Campbell County High School teaching Ag. and FFA. He enjoyed working with his students and had the opportunity to touch many students' lives. He taught Ag for fifteen years and then was offered a position with an energy company. He left teaching and began a career as an executive with Sun Oil Company. With Sun Oil Company he was able to explore one of his great passions in life, ranching.

He managed the Big Horn Ranch south of Buffalo, Wyoming for twenty years. Upon retirement the couple moved to Buffalo and enjoyed seventeen years at their beautiful retirement home. In 2005, because of health issues they were forced to move to Casper, Wyoming to be closer to medical care. They spend their summers traveling the country in their motor-home. Dwight loved his family dearly and enjoyed bbq's and family gatherings. Dwight passed away quietly Saturday morning in his home with his wife at his side.

He is survived by his brothers, Gayle, Melvin and Allen Knott, his wife Dorothy and his children, David and Daryl Knott, Deb Strohschein and her husband Michael. Also his grandchildren Shawn, Justin, Travis Strohschein and Ryan Knott and his great grandchildren, Madison and Samantha Strohschein. It was his wish not to have a funeral service, however, the family appreciates everyone's kind words and prayers.
