Duwaine M. Brenner, 67, passed away in an automobile accident on Saturday, June 5, 2010 on Interstate 80 near Wamsutter, WY.
Duwaine was born December 28, 1942 in Beaver Falls, PA to Ronald L. Brenner and Allvaretta S. (Freed) Brenner. He was a veteran of the US Army from 1963-1965. Duwaine was stationed in Fulda, Germany repairing radar equipment. He lived in Grand Prairie, Alberta Canada for two years while working at Peace River Bible Institute. He earned a Bachelor of Science in geology from Youngstown State University, OH. He worked as a geologist for three years. Afterwards, he was employed almost 20 years for the
City of Casper as a traffic technician before retiring in 2003.
Duwaine enjoyed reading non-fiction, fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He was a member of Highland Park Community Church where he enjoyed Sunday school class discussions. He also enjoyed visiting with friends at the senior center.
He was married to Barbara (Day) Brenner, from Struthers, OH for 30 years. They were divorced in 2000. Survivors include his children Sara (Brenner) Sullivan, Shannon (Brenner) Nelson and Shane Brenner all of Casper, WY, his former wife Barbara, sister Marlene Liptak of Aliquippa, PA, along with niece Rene' (Ackerman) Guman of Beaver Falls, PA, nephew Gary Ackerman of New Galilee, PA, his dog Kita, and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris (Brenner) Scott.
Memorial Services will be held Friday, June 11,2010, 2:30 PM at Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery in Evansville, WY with Pastor Tami Rudkin officiating. Newcomer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
