Life History:
Graduated from NCHS in 1967 where he was active in baseball. He played throughout high school and pitched in the Connie Mack World Series in Angel's stadium. As a young man he participated in cross country and dirt track motorcycle racing. He married Leigh Hershelman on June 28, 1969. He graduated from University of Wyoming with a BS degree in petroleum engineering. He was a member of Sigma Tau Engineering Honor Society and a registered petroleum engineer in Wyoming and Oklahoma. As a petroleum engineer who was instrumental in introducing the frac technology which allowed for the production of natural gas in the Jonah field. In 1995 he with his partner Mike Bledsoe founded MD Well Service which they grew until the time it was sold in May of 2005. He owned Flack Petroleum Consultants, Inc and worked for Basic Energy Services until the time of his death. He was a member of the American Petroleum Institute, the Society of Petroleum Engineers, and was active in the Association of Energy Service Contractors.
He loved to hunt, fish, play golf, play softball and spend time in the outdoors. He spent many hours with his daughters skiing, fishing, and gardening. He was a volunteer with Special Olympics of Wyoming. He loved his many cats and his beloved horse Serzal.
In recent years he and Leigh discovered foreign travel, visiting Irleand, Italy, and Scotland. They also were in the process of having a house built in Boulder, Wyoming.
