Loved her family deeply, Dorothy was one of those individuals who had a strong and unbreakable spirit. Her life was hard and it seemed that life handed her more than her share of troubles. Instead of whimpering or admitting defeat, Dorothy found internal strength to overcome the problems. She was dedicated to her children and as most parents, made sacrifices too numerous to count. Her children loved her deeply.
She had six children – four boys and two girls. The three older boys predeceased her. Ronnie died at 16 months. Lee died in 1989 and Merlin died in 1999. A granddaughter preceded her in death in1979.
Dorothy enjoyed traveling. After retiring in 1986, her children treated her to a trip to Walt Disney World in Florida. She enjoyed herself so much, they took her there again in 1991. In 1994, she accompanied them to Glacier National Park and to Canada.
Hobbies: As a high school student she played in the band, loved to play the organ and accordion, enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and numerous handicrafts. She collected dolls and loved knick-knacks. As a young woman, she enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially at Bass Lake with her son, Lee.
