Dorothy Iiams, age 52, died in a card accident Tuesday evening, May 9, 2006 near Belle Fourche, SD.
Dororthy was born Aug. 19, 1953 in Casper,'wy, the daughter of Charles W. and Dorothy E. Mosteller. She grew up in Casper on the Mosteller Ranch with her sister and 4 brothers. She graduated from Natrona County High School and shortly after married Dick Iiams on January 23, 1971.
For over 22 years, Dorothy worked for Fox-Andersen Construction repairing fIre and water damaged homes. The rancher in her enjoyed every aspect of construction. It was never a surprise to see her standing on the roof of a house, sawzall in one hand, smile on her face, pony tail bobbing in the wind and a dust broom hanging out of her back pocket. Her jeans usually sported a hole in the knee and her purse was surprisingly heavy, since she used it as her additional toolbox. She will be remembered as on the best painters in Casper.
Dorothy was also employed for a brief time at the Wyoming Medical Center in the Maintenance dept. She was a member of TOPS for many years.
Dorothy did everything to the fullest. She was truly a cowgirl at heart and loved to be outdoors. Some of her favorite things were her horses, Chester and CW, hunting, fIshing, country dancing, painting pictures with her mom and June, taking photos of anything and everything from a sunset to a flower. Dorothy never met a stranger; she enjoyed people and was always the fust to lend a hand. There was never a dull moment around her, she had a great sense. of humor and could fmd the good in everything. She was a wonderful mother and no matter what, was always there for her children Bobbie and Grady.
Her smile could light up a room! Dorothy was a strong, caring, talented beautiful woman who will always be deeply loved and truly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dick Iiams.
Survivors include 2 children, daughter Bobbie Iiams and son Grady Iiams, parents Charles W. and Dorothy E. Mosteller, brother Billy Mosteller and wife Linda, sister June Lewis and husband Ken, brother Charlie Mosteller and wife Sandy, brother Pat Mosteller and wife Debbie and brother Kenny Mosteller, all of Casper. Numerous nieces and nephews and one granddaughter.
In lieu offlowers, the family would appreciate memorials sent in her name to Newcomer Family Funeral Home and Crematory.
