It is with heartfelt love and sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Dorothy Germon, age 93. She passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 27, 2012 at Central Wyoming Hospice, surrounded by family.
She was born in Belleville, Kansas on December 31, 1918, daughter of Nora Rena Kelly. They moved to Casper in 1923, and Dorothy graduated from Natrona County High School in 1937. She worked as a secretary for Tripeny Drug and the Ohio Oil Company. On December 26, 1942, Dorothy married Dr. Albert Germon who passed away in 2001. She is survived by her five children; Judy, Joanne, Jim, Janice and Jeanne. She was a wonderful grandmother to Riel and Dylan Villeneuve, Matthew and Kalie Parmenter, Morgan Germon McGeroge, and great-grandmother to Liam and Nate Villeneuve.
Though small in stature, Dorothy was mighty in spirit. She will be remembered as hard working and a loving wife, devoted mother and trusted friend. She raised her children to be independent and instilled in them the importance of keeping strong family ties. She treasured living in Casper, volunteered in the community, and was an avid supporter of local business. Fishing, golf, bridge and walking her dogs were among the many activities she enjoyed. Al and Dorothy were also travelers, able to visit Mexico, Australia and Spain, but most of all they were fond of their "home away from home" in Maui, Hawaii for many years.
Dorothy will always be with us in our hearts and memories. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
The family would like to thank the staff at Life Care Center of Casper for their loving care and friendship over the past seven years.
A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday June 8, 2012 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church at 11:00 AM.
