Dorothy "Virginia" Cook, age 95, of Mills, passed away August 27, 2018 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Virginia was born September 8, 1922 in Powersville, Missouri to James and Ola (Callison) Woods. Virginia attended Willard School, a Country School in Campbell County. She married Glen Edward Cook on July 2, 1940 in Sheridan, Wyoming. They moved to the Claude Bray Place just a mile from Glen's folks' place which was 38 miles south of Gillette and just north of the W.R. Wright Ranch. She was a homemaker for the majority of her life on the family ranch. Louise Eileen was born September 23, 1946 and Ronald Donavan was born October 16, 1950. Glen and Virginia enjoyed going to the Senior Citizen Center for lunch and playing cards. Glen loved to drive, so they enjoyed traveling together. Virginia loved to bake, especially cookies and pies. She made the best fried chicken and rhubarb pie. Crocheting and embroidering were her favorite hobbies.
In addition to her parents, Virginia was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 68 years, Glen Cook, her son, Ronald, grandson, Lafe Swingholm, sister, Mary Florence. She is survived by her daughter, Louise Swingholm, Son-In-law, Ron Swingholm, grandsons, Glen Swingholm, Andy Cook, Toby Cook, and Jeremy Cook, and honorary pallbearers/nieces and nephews, John, Tia, and Kris Onstine, Kenny Galbraith, and Rena Becker.
No services will be held at this time. She will be laid to rest at Mount Pisgah Cemetery in Gillette, Wyoming.
