CASPER -- Services for Doris L. Hamre, 84, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007, at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church with Rev. Brenda Baalhorn from Good Shepherd Lutheran Church officiating. There will be a gathering of family and friends after the service at Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
She died March 4, 2007, in Citrus Heights, Calif., while visiting her daughter.
She was born May 29, 1922, in Ashton, S.D., the daughter of James Keller and Anna Larsen.
She graduated from Ashton High School and from the Peabody Hospital Nursing School in Webster, S.D., in 1944.
She served as a nurse in the United States Army Women's Army Corps in World War II and was stationed in Missouri.
She married George Elmer Hamre on Dec. 20, 1946 in Mobridge, S.D., and they were divorced on June 29, 1970.
She was employed as a nurse for Dr. Holman, Dr. Fitzgerald and Dr. Roussalis, as well as Wyoming Medical Center and retired in 1987.
She enjoyed quilting, reading, playing cards, yard work, visiting with friends and neighbors, and was an avid sports fan. She enjoyed every moment she could spend with each of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Jim Hamre and wife of Laramie; three daughters, Jeannie Kegley and husband of Citrus Heights, Calif.; Julie Federer of Cheyenne and Janice Dalgarno and husband of Casper; a brother, Bruce Keller of Ashton, S.D., eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, David Keller and a sister, Edna Nerger.
