Doris Edna Latimer, 87, of Casper, passed away and went to heaven on August 31, 2016.
Doris was born on November 16, 1928, to Earl and Mamie Blackburn, in Delta, Colorado. She graduated from Hotchkiss High School in Hotchkiss, Colorado.
Doris met Glen Latimer, the love of her life, in a peach orchid, and they were married for 68 wonderful years. She was a member of Eastern Star, miscellaneous sewing clubs, the tractor club, and the Old Car Club. She enjoyed touring the country with Glen on their motorcycles and camping and fishing with their sons. Doris loved to paint with oils on canvas and was a very accomplished quilt maker. When her quilts were finished she loved to give them away to family and friends. Doris and Glen were founding members of Sunrise Baptist Church in Casper.
Doris is survived by her husband, two children, Gary (Becky Jo) and Frank (Robin) all of Casper, her brother Tom of Garden City, Idaho and her brother Warren of Montrose, Colorado. She is also survived by five grandchildren and four step-grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents; son Robert and daughter-in-law Norma; two grandchildren, Russell and Dustin; two great grandchildren, Isabella and Ava; two sisters, Delma and Dorothy; and an infant brother, Robert.
Doris would request that memorials be made to Sunrise Baptist Church.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, September 9, 2016 at Sunrise Baptist Church, 3990 South McKinley Street. A reception at Sunrise Baptist Church will follow the interment at Wyoming Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Newcomer Funeral Home.
