Doris Barankiewicz, 81, of Casper died on January 9, 2009. Funeral services will be held at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Friday January 16th at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob McNamara and Pastor Ronald Massen officiating. Friends may call at Newcomer Funeral Home after 12 noon Thursday and the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00p.m. Doris was born April 30, 1927 in Dale, Minnesota on the family farm to her parents Carl and Ellen Carlson. She graduated from Oak Grove High School. She lived and worked in Minnesota until her marriage to Thomas P. Barankiewicz in 1957. They moved west to Wyoming in 1959. There they began their successful business Tim Force Tin Shop, and raised their four children.
She was a devoted member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She She was a devoted member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church. She was a member of the woman's group helping with funerals, bake sales and many other activities. She was a devoted mother and wife, unselfish and supportive friend to all. She was a gourmet cook and participated in a gourmet group for many years. She also loved gardening, canning, ceramics, and sewing.Tom and Doris built their home with the bricks from the old commissary mall, meticulously cleaning each brick by hand, a two year process that built the structure, which remains the family home today. For 37 years it has been a gathering place for family and friendsShe is survived by her daughter Kathy Verow, her son Jim Barankiewicz and wife Linda, son Craig Barankiewicz. Grandchildren: Angie, husband Vaughn Mettler and Rick, wife Tori Verow, Amanda Gillham. Great grandchildren: Tyler Verow of Denver, CO, Austin Mettler, Devin Mettler, Sadie Verow all of Casper. Her sisters Bev (Daniel) Mjelosoness, Redwing, MN and Yvonne (Ron) Massen, Brodhead, WI. She was preceded in death by her husband Tom, and her son Scott, her brother Court Carlson, and best friend Verna.
